TOUR DURATION: 6 hours or during your ship stay.

Pick up at the Seapier after the ship is fully docked.

Drive towards Furnas area from the South coast. Our first stop is at the Caloura viewpoint to see the South coast and a natural swimming pool in the Ocean. Then we will drive towards Vila Franca do Campo town (the first capital of the island, before the earthquake in 1522), to go to the viewpoint Nossa Senhora da Paz. From there you will see Vila Franca do Campo town and islet from the top of the hill and see the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz.

From here we will drive throug Vila Franca do Campo town. As we get closer to Furnas, drive down to or in the crater of Furnas passing and seeing the Furnas Lake. Our next stop will be the view beside Furnas Lake to see the lake and all the splendid greenery around it.

Then drive to Furnas village and stop at the main hot springs and thermal water springs called Caldeiras”. Then we will drive to Furnas village, and stop at Caldeiras in the village, where there is the main hot springs and thermal water springs.

Our next drive will be up and out of the crater of Furnas to the viewpoint to see all of the Furnas Volcanic Crater (lake and Village) called Pico do Ferro.” From there we will drive up to Salto Cavalo viewpoint, where you can see Furnas Crater from another angle and Povoação town (the first settlement of Sao Miguel 1432), with its 7 bumps looking like a big octopus. Then drive down passing the village of Salga and stop at Ribeira dos Caldeirões Waterfall and Park. The waterfall is the most popular waterfall on Sao Miguel Island. From there we will drive to the Tea Plantation Goreana (see the tea, factory with explanation, and free taste of green and black tea). Then we will drive to the viewpoint Miradouro de Santa Iria to see the North coast. After that we will check the time and determine what more you can fit or is the client’s mood.

During the Tour there will be always WC stops, and in the middle of this Tour a stop to drink and eat depending how long is your ship stays here that day, and what the clients feel like doing.

Note: Sao Miguel island weather may affect this itinerary and alternate sites may be visited if necessary.
